Stacks (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our self-custody Bitcoin wallet application, our Custody Service for Bitcoin and gold (mandatory for gold, optional for Bitcoin), and our website.

Account Information: Email address and basic profile information when you create an account.

Usage Data: Anonymous analytics data such as app usage patterns, device type, and operating system to improve our Service.

Custody Service Information: If you enroll in our optional Custody Service, we and our regulated custody partners process the information necessary to safeguard and account for your assets, such as holdings records, enrollment details, and transaction history related to the Custody Service.

What We Do NOT Collect (self-custody wallet): Private keys, recovery phrases, wallet balances, or transaction details. This data remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Your private keys and recovery phrases are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. Physical gold enrolled in the Custody Service is stored with our regulated Swiss vaulting partners under industry-standard security and insurance standards. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect any data we do collect.

Where enabled, Stacks cryptographically anchors a hash of in-app trade transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain for transparency and audit purposes. This anchored record is a one-way cryptographic fingerprint; it does not contain your name, account details, or transaction amounts, and cannot be reversed to reveal your personal information.

When you use third-party services through Stacks (e.g., buying or selling Bitcoin or gold via partners, or the Custody Service), those providers may collect additional information subject to their own privacy policies.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information with our regulated custody and vaulting partners where necessary to provide the Custody Service, and anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may request data export or account deletion at any time by contacting us.

Our website may use essential cookies to ensure proper functionality. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app.
